Pedro Luiz Rosalen is a retired Full Professor from UNICAMP, currently serving as a collaborating professor in the Graduate Program in Dentistry, specializing in Pharmacology, Dental Therapeutics, Cariology, Phytochemistry, Ethics, and Good Research Practices, with a focus on the Bioprospection of natural assets (propolis, medicinal plants, essential oils, agroindustrial waste, and others) related to biofilm-dependent diseases and inflammatory processes. He holds the position of General Coordinator for the Expansion and Management of Health Education at the Higher Education Secretariat (SESu) of the Ministry of Education (MEC) of Brazil and is a full member of the National Coordination of the More Doctors Program for Brazil. Rosalen serves as an ad hoc consultant for agencies such as FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq, National Medical Research Council (NMRC/Singapore), and Warsaw University of Life Sciences, National Science Centre (Poland). He holds several patents granted by INPI/BR and USPTO/USA, as well as numerous international and national awards. Among his recognitions are the Joseph Lister Award, SBPqO/IADR, SP, Brazil (2017); International Edward H. Hatton Award, 1st place, IADR, San Diego, CA, USA, 03/16/2011 (the first time a research of South American origin received this world-renowned award); Unilever Travel Award E.H. Hatton, SBPqO/IADR, SP, Brazil (2004 and 2011); Zeferino Vaz Award, UNICAMP, SP, Brazil (2001 and 2007); and 1st place in the Scientific Forum of SBPqO, SP, Brazil (1991). Rosalen was cited among the 100,000 most influential scientists in the world by PLOS Biology 2020. Additionally, he was listed among the 500 most productive researchers in Latin America in 2021 and 2022 by the AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index). In July 2023, he once again ranked among the world's top scientists and is among the seventy professors at UNICAMP (13th place, with H index = 61; 11,121 citations from his 270 international publications, having supervised 58 professionals in Graduate studies), according to the second edition of the ranking of the world's top scientists in various fields of knowledge, published by Research.com. He has also been a Visiting Professor at the University of Rochester-NY; University of Southern California, Los Angeles-CA; and Federal University of Alfenas.
